Again, Love came to visit me,

Bold as a Lion, and finding me coy,

She beckoned to stay,

The search was now at bay.

We met in nature,

Away from preying eyes,

That is where I caught her eye.

It was her lovely grin, her broad smile,

Knowingly, I smiled back,

We giggled, happy as a lark,

I thought, “I have found my luck!

She said, “So you are Bernard?”

I said, “No, I am Benard!”

“I will call you Bernard,” She said.

I said, “That’s allowed.”

You see, I had to start it somewhere,

So it started there,

What else could I do?

A man avowed to solitude.

In sixty seconds, she said,

I want to live with you,

I want to be yours,

I want to know you,

I want to grow old with you!

I said, “Oh you’re so funny.”

She said “Yeah?

Well I cannot see anyone else smiling in here.

I said “Are you sure you want to live with me?

You want to see whatever I see.

You want to hear whatever I hear.

You want to eat whatever I eat.

You want to read whatever I read.

But, she did not understand,

She just smiled and held my hand.

She insisted,

I want to sing along with you,

Laugh along with you,

Farm with you,

And do the stupid things that you do.

Dusk descended, and we parted ways,

I thoughtfully reasoned, no hurry now,

I shall have your number soon,

And we shall meet on 3rd June.

But Alas! She was taken!

I am telling this in pain,

Love visited me again,

But finding me busy again,

She fled with the dawn!
